The Wayward Walkers Group differs from other U3A walking groups in that each year we decide which long distance path (or part thereof) to complete. Pre- planned walks of between 10 to 14 miles are then undertaken each month over the path selected.  This year (2024) we will be undertaking The Winchcombe Way followed by The Gustav Way.

Group dynamics are as follows:

• Each monthly walk is on the 3rd Wednesday of each month
• Each monthly walk is reconnoitred prior to the actual walk
• We meet at the end point of each monthly walk at 09:30, details of which are sent out by email prior to the walk.
• Use of a car is essential and whilst car sharing is possible it is restricted (usually 2 per car) so that there are enough cars to take all the walkers from the end point to the start point and leave sufficient cars behind at the end point to take all the walkers back to the start point!
• Most walks reach the end point between 15.00 and 16.00
• Whilst we stop for coffee and lunch, walkers bring there own beverages and food
• The group membership is limited to 20 in order to restrict the number of car parking places needed at the start and end points of each walk.  
• As at January 2024 we are up to our limit of 20, which tends to be fairly static .
