Beacon

Beacon is the Membership, Finance and Group management system used by Stroud u3a. We welcome our members to this page where we will gradually introduce services whereby Members can access and use our Beacon System.

Members can currently

  • View, amend and update your own personal information;
  • (including providing us with an "In Case of Emergency" contact);
  • Renew your membership online using Paypal, or also via Paypal, by Credit or Debit Card. (Please note that you do not need a Paypal account to do this; although Paypal will invite you to set one up. If you do not want a Paypal account choose to check out as a Guest).

We may extend the system further to, additionally, permit members to:

  • See the Groups we offer and apply to join one or more directly;
  • If a Group is full, apply to join the Waiting List for that Group (if the Group operates one).

The first time you access the portal you will be asked to confirm your identity and for this you will need a number of pieces of information to hand. These must exactly match our records or Beacon will not be able to Confirm Your Identity. Choose the option to Register for a Membership Account.

  • Your Stroud u3a Membership Number;
  • Your first and surnames;
  • Your postcode;
  • Your email address.

You will then be sent an email which you will need to use to set your password.

Once you have set your password, you will be able to log in with just your email address and password on all future visits. Should you need to change your password you can do this by logging in to the portal and changing your password on your own membership record. There is an option to choose if you have forgotten your password.
