Our current individual annual subscription is £12. If you are a member of another u3a which pays your annual contribution to the Third Age Trust our subscription is discounted to £8.50). All subscriptions are renewable on the 1st September annually but for people joining after 1 April in a year, their membership remains valid until 31 August in the following year.
GIFT AID ...
If you can, please GIFT AID your subscriptions and any donations you may make to Stroud u3a. Every £1.00 your subscribe (or donate) is then worth £1.25 to Stroud u3a and, if you are a higher rate taxpayer, you can also claim an extra £0.15 back for yourself via your HMRC Self Assessment. To register with us for GIFT AID, please either complete the GIFT AID section on our Membership Form or, if already a member but not yet Gift Aiding, then please complete our standalone GIFT AID DECLARATION Form (below).
Joining ...
We have a Membership Form (below), which we ask you to download, complete, and send back to our Membership Secretary (postal and email addresses on the form). Contact our Membership Secretary, Sylvia Pearse, in case of difficulty!
The application form is designed to be completed on your computer (not online). For some, this is fairly straightforward (e.g. folk who are familiar with MS Word), but for others it can be quite tricky.
A reasonably foolproof method is to
- open the form in your web browser
- save it to your computer
- edit it on your computer using MS Word or Adobe Acrobat (on a Mac, Preview) and save it
- email the saved copy to membership@stroudu3a.org.uk

Another alternative which some people have adopted is to print out the form, fill it in by hand, photograph it with their smartphone or tablet, and email the photo of the form back. Please make sure it's sharp!

We don't ask you to send us a new copy of the application form, unless your details have changed and even in that case, a letter or email to Sylvia Pearse will be fine. Please also email Sylvia Pearse if you need the postal address.
